Creepy Sugar Skulls

Here's the last quilt I made for Christmas. It went to Hubby's niece who loves Day of the Dead stuff. It's way to creepy and dark for my taste.

Here's the last quilt I made her years ago. It was really time to make one she could cuddle up under now that she's almost an adult.

I finally figured out how to get the photos out of my new Cannon camera. My old camera was really not up to today's standards. So excited to start taking pictures.....let the fun begin !!!

Never published....just hanging out in a folder.

Clearly new to this blogging thing......this was never published. Better late than never I guess.

I will admit to not cooking a meal in the last week. Trying to finish Christmas gifts again this year. Working six days a week this past year, left little time in the studio. I'm making quilts for all (4) of a buddy's grand kids this year. Here's one on the design wall.

He's an electrian by trade. This Fall he installed flood light in our side n' backyard, replaced my front and back porch lights and ran power out to my chicken coop The quilts are my "thank you" gift.
Then at the last minute decided to make a quilt for Hubby's niece. It was meant to be for her birthday gift this Spring. However she's in town for the Holidays, so decided to save shipping cost (coast to coast) and get it done. What was I thinking ??? I'm struggling with it....she's really into the "Day of the Dead" stuff. It's just dark and creepy to me. I listened to "The Haunting of Blackwood House" by Darcy Coates while working on it. Seemed fitting to me :)
There are also several small projects I still need to get finished.

Playing Catch Up !!!

Goodness life has been busy, so glad the Holidays are over. I had five quilts going out as Christmas gifts. They all got finished and gifted on time. These first four are from Jenny Doan's tutorials at Missouri Star Quilt Co., they were fast n' easy made from layered cakes. The little boys fabrics actually made two child sized and two baby sized quilts.

The Chevron quilts were made from a batik layered cake and a solid black layered cake.

This was posted to my Facebook Account two days post Christmas. Lily wasn't feeling well and asked her Mom for her new quilt. Then asked for her little brother's as well. I LOVE that she is snuggled up between two of my quilts.

The fifth quilt was for my Hubby's niece. Those photos are in my new camera. I need to figure out how to download them into my computer.......it'll be a later post.

This baby quilt is also from one of the layered cake. One of my favorite co-worker has a new Grandson who needed a quilt.

As far as Christmas' go this was a good one. Everyone at my place was happy with their gifts. Hubby got a gift he's always wanted a little Bearded Dragon. He'll be about 18-24 inches when fully grown.

Meet Toothless....

This wonderful girl got all kinds of car parts for her beloved Jeep. Daddy is giving all the labor n' time to install said parts. She said that was all she really wanted this year. I did buy her a beautiful time turner locket as well....she needed a girly gift from Mom.

I got my new camera.....so excited to finally get a nice one, the old one is just that old !!! It's smarter than I am....cannot wait to play with it more. Hopefully now that this session of Traffic Safety is over things will slow down a bit.
